2> The Gift of the Standard-bearer and the Gift of the Intercessor/

Isaiah 59:16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
While most believers understand the position of Jesus as Intercessor, and the context of The Holy Spirit making intercession for us, there remains questions concerning those that specifically address a prayer position as one of intercession or full time prayer ministry.
Still, the scriptures allude to those that positioned themselves to seek the face of God in relentless prayer to bring about change in their generation, Some of these individuals include, Moses, (Exodus 10:17 & 32:32) Daniel,(Daniel 9:3) Anna (Luke 2:36-37), and the ministry of those widows set aside to full time ministry of prayer addressed in the book of (1 Timothy 5:5)
One positional words found in scripture and characterized by the ministry of intercession is exemplified in Isaiah 59 . pertaining to the word PAGA and Ephesians 6 as one standing against the wiles of the devil through prayer in the defense of others..
Because of it inference to position, It remains ideal to clarify the terms and historical relevance of intercession.
TEXTUAL Applications
Intercessor / one who advocates, negotiates or mediates on behalf of ( types lawyer)
Intervene / One who bears the wrath of justice on behalf of another
Defender / One who stands in rank or auihority to defend or protect (ambassador)
The historical record Isaiah 59:15-18 and Ephesians 6:10-21
Both of these text refer to a defensive posture or style of warfare characterized by a conquering power at the time of Isaiah. unlike armies that preplanned details of a battle beforehand with little room for unpredictable changes, the Assyrians developed a battle science borrowed in part form the Egyptians. The Assyrians chose a high ground site very carefully, placing their generals overlooking the battle to an open valley. Though banners were used in a variety of ways, the Assyrians employed ensigns (called standard-bearer) that utilized flags to communicate changes to the front lines of their defenses. The advantage was an ability to adapt as the battle progressed, position footmen, bowmen, spearman, horsemen, chariots etc. as well as close up venerability in ranks, observe the enemy’s weakness and relay this information to the commanders on the frontline.
Picture if you will the Holy Spirit as general giving his instruction to His shepard and strategic leaders in government His standard-bearer as they inturn give direction to the church… It must also be understood that the standard-bearer did not bear a weapon. It was his job to rather direct the battle.
Ephesians 6:19 the Apostle Paul’s prayer That utterance may be given to me (from The Holy Spirit) that I (the standard barrier) might open my mouth boldly to make know the mystery of the Gospel (to the Church)
The Pursuing Army Sought to Disable the Standard-bearer.
The last portion of Isaiah 10:18 reads in the AV. “And they shall be as when the standard-bearer fainteth” The point of this verse while not easily understood suggest the importance of the unhindered task of the standard-bearer if victory was to be achieved and the consequence when the standard-bearer was taken out: The battle was now in complete confusion.
Therefore the unhindered task of the standard-bearer remains the top priority.
Isaiah 59:15 reads
“So truth fail and he who stands against evil has become the prey.” Then the Lord saw it and he was displease that there was none to act as intercessor. (paga) *none to protect them’
Who Were The Paga
Well this term most-likely refers to the special force of defensive warriors whose single task was to protect amd incircle the standard-bearer.
Should a breach occur that endangered the standard-bearer, these body guards were to stand fast at their post, and bear the wrath of the enemy’s advance to take out the standard barrier, many times at the cost of their on lives.
Many kingdom leaders do not maintain an (intercessory strategic covering). Often, they are overcome by personal issues that deem them unaffective or take them out all together.
Should we be rethinking the process?
The Word Watchful & Perservance in Ephesians 6:18
By supplication defend the saints. At the root of the word persevere is the strategic word to preserve.
The Apostle Paul Reminisce Concerning His Missionary Journey.
2 Corinthians 8-11 8 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: 9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: 10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; 11 Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.
The Apostle Paul Praised the Corinthian Church For Their Passionate Partnership Through Prayer
11 Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.
The Word Helping in verse 11 SC#4943 GRK NT. SUN UPO UREGO
Under the cover of your experiential knowing and working labor through prayer.
Sun (soon) A experiential partnership (a closer than a brother. a bond of knowing.)
The experiencoa; now knowing sense of feeling pain, danger or suffering though seperated by distance.
UPO (hupo) Under the cover of
Urego (ergon) Your work, your toilPua; is saying, Though seperated by distance, You are my guardians of my work though prayer (Hebrew counter-part paga) so that I and the gospel continue without obstacles.
Continued Comparision Pertaining to Isaiah 59 and Ephesians 6
Paul’s message is there is coming an evil day. So, what do you intend to do about it?
So put on your spiritual warrior armored garments for the battle,
Prepare to protect the kingdom and those that stand for righteousness, His standard-bearer.
Withstand the spiritual forces in a defensive unmovable posture.Repel the enemies advances through prayer, first of all for the saints.and then Paul says for him, that the gospel continue without hinderance.
Paul understood the spiritual reality concerning protecting the kingdom through covering prayer, and the help that Jesus and the Father send in answer to those that toil through prayer.
SImilarities to Isaiah and Paul
Isaiah 59 The Armor
17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.
Ephesian 6 The Armor
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Isaiah 59 The Defensive Posture and Stand
18 According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.
Ephesian 6
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
The Covenant Partnership Promise to Standard-bearer and the Intercessor
Isaiah 59 19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. 20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD. 21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
Ephesians 6 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel

The action begins as a type of the division within the Church of California.
Different streams, ideas, ect and sometimes points of contention, issues and defining terms.
As the powers of darkness arise to oppose the Church, the Call is made
by the Holy Spirit to the people of God awaken and
set diferences aside and stand together against the powers
of darkness and see the salvation of God,
With every joint supplying and doing its share the Church overcomes the opposition.
The Morale of the story,
we need each other,
Within our family are many different gifts. None of us have it all. Some like

Dear Team:
This report of my research below reflects my re-examining of my need for personal revival and looking at the values I took from going to present day revivals. I am seeing a different priority that God has for revival as I go back and examine scripture and past revivals. The result is that I am seeking a genuine renewal of the heart as I seek Him for clean hands and a pure heart.
As many I have sought revival and to encounter God for these last days. When I heard God was moving in Toronto in a new revival being often referred to as, “The River of God” I went to encounter Him. I also went to Lakeland Florida and have been to Rodney Howard Brown’s meetings to what was called an “Outpouring.”
What I saw at these self described revivals among other things was “Holy Laughter.” It was first introduced by Rodney Howard Brown and made popular in 1994 at what was then called “The Toronto Blessing.” I went to Toronto in 1995 to experience this revival. For the next 15 years I went to places moving in the River. The fruits of this movement for many has not been to bring about the fruits of holiness or increased godliness but to excite the flesh and awaken a quest to gratify its passions. The focus is on the excitement of an experience as characterized by laughter which rarely includes holiness and a need for repentance mentioned as a part of the revival. The admonition of King David for the most part is not uplifted to those seeking revival, “Who will ascend His holy hill? He who has clean hands and a pure heart.” Ps 24: 3,4 The main characteristics of what Rodney Howard Brown introduced is the experience of being spiritually drunk as evidenced by what was termed “Holy Laughter.” The drunker one becomes in the Spirit, the more they are thought to be experiencing revival. A person is not called to repentance for revival, but to seek to be drunk in the Spirit.
In an effort to give some perspective to what is being done in the name of revival, I have looked at scripture and past revivals to see how the “River Revival” aligns with God’s workings in the past. The use of laughter as a sign of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is not much seen in scripture. As it pertains to past revivals there almost always is weeping before laughter and it usually was seen in the context of a person being released from sin after much prayer. Scripture seems to point more to the need for mourning or weeping over our spiritual condition in God’s presence as a sign He is at work. Listen to Solomon in his own need for spiritual awakening:
“The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning, but the heart of fools is the house of mirth (laughing) ” Eccl 7:6
“Sorrow is better then laughter: For by sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.” Eccl 7: 3-4
Jesus also addresses a context for weeping and laughing as it relates to turning to Him in Luke 6: 21, 25: Jesus says, “Blessed are ye that weep now! For ye shall laugh. Woe unto you that laugh now! For ye shall mourn and weep.”
Wow! Jesus gives us a pause to take notice of his priority when it comes to laughter.
The apostle James also warns, “Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.”
Why would James urge this change of focus for believers? They need to see their sinfulness in order to be set free from the power of sin so they can have true joy.
Rodney Howard Brown teaches that drunkeness in the Spirit as evidenced by laughter is revival. His focus at his meetings is to get drunk in the spirit. The drunker one is the more anointed they are. Scripture teaches in the last days to be “sober” and not drunk spiritually. Listen to the Apostle Peter speaking to those living in the last days on earth:
“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore ‘sober’ and watch unto prayer.. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” I Peter 4:7; 5:8
It is interesting to note that one of the manifestations thought to be of God at the Toronto River Revival is people roaring like a lion or shaking their heads violently like a lion.
Peter exhorts that in the last days in I Peter 4:11 what all our utterances must glorify God,
“If a man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God: if any man minister, let him do it that God in all things might be glorified.”
The word “speak” (Laieo) used by Peter means to “utter sounds.” This would even include the use of laughter. Today’s so called revivalists are declaring “Be drunk! Laugh and roar with excitement!” God is saying “The end of all things is upon you. Check your hearts. Be sober! Watch in prayer because your adversary is roaring as a lion to destroy you.”
What can we learn from revivalist of the past in terms of what God really does in times of revival? A study of past revivals reveals that the prominent teachings and experiences is a deep conviction of sin. People are led to a deeper repentance and a renouncing of sin along with the gratifying of the flesh. Much weeping for a sinful heart is seen as men and women cry out for mercy. They are manifestations of the Spirit but they are not the main focus – getting right with God is the main focus.
I recently read through some of the accounts of the Hebrides revival led by Duncan Campbell. They can be seen at: www.revivalfires.org ; Lewis Drummond described true revival in this way as he looked at this revival, “A Spiritual Awakening is no more than God’s people seeing God in His holiness, turning from their wicked ways, and being transformed into His Likeness.”
Revivalists observed that the surrender of self so Christ could be enthroned was the true hallmark of revival as in this quote: “Self-renunciation is the cardinal ethic of the Christian Church. A full and complete surrender is the price of blessing and of revival.” They point to the need for Christ to be enthroned at the cost of crucifying of self as a part of a radical sanctification. This is missing in todays so called revivals. Listen to the plea of Duncan Campbell from the Hebrides revival, “The secret of sanctification is Christ enthroned. The secret of holiness is in the complete filling of the soul with the life of Christ. The incorporation of His personality. ”
The revivalists of the past saw the work of the Holy Spirit was to lead the believer to yield to a work of purifying of the heart so the individual could then be filled with God’s presence. Listen to this description of its work:
“The secret of holiness, not mine, but His, is to be filled with His fulness. This is His promise. It is not just power but purity. I would say that the peculiar prerogative of the Holy Spirit is to ‘purify’ and then empower.”
Charles Finney leader of the Second Great Awakening addressed the religion of his day that excluded the need for removing sin from the life as a part of seeking God. He was bold in his rebuke: “Away with your milk and water preaching of the love of Christ that has no holiness or moral discernment in it, away with the preaching a Christ not crucified for sin.”
The revivalists of ages past have a consistent witness concerning the need for purity and cleansing from sin for God to pour himself out into the life of an individual. “God will not pour His Spirit into that which is polluted by failure (sin). God wants a clean vessel. Are we clean?”
These revivalists addressed the sin issue at its most basic level. The whole nature of sin in man needed to be crucified so a new nature free from sin was brought to life. The question of the hour was “Who is on the throne of the heart ruling and reigning?” True revival involves a consecration of giving the throne over to Christ for His rulership. It is not just about seeing signs and wonders with the whip cream of some laughter that excites the senses. It is about a radical sanctification so we become living sacrifices to Christ. (Romans 12: 1-3) Listen to Duncan Campbell’s appeal, “The essential nature of sin is my claim to myself. Consecration is my relinquishing of that claim. The yielding of self in His presence leads me to a radical sanctification. We present ourselves as living sacrifices.”
It is my desire to yield self in His holy presence so that a radical sanctification creating a clean heart, and a resting place for God in me, so I may live as a living sacrifice to Him.
The California Survey
For THE CA LISTENING TEAM
David Andrade/ Rick Wright
Dear CA LISTENING TEAM and LIFT TEAM,
The following 3 questions were addressed to Christian leaders in a bi-yearly survey throughout California. This reply reflects the top 10 percent and may be found at the bottom of this page. The Leadership Team encampuses many streams, denominations and cultures all working to affect the Kingdom of God in California.
The questions:
1. What is the Holy Spirit saying to you personally?
2. What is the Holy Spirit saying to us as leaders in California?
3. How do we as leaders corporately respond to the Holy Spirit?
____________________________________
The team works together to respond.
91 responded to the June 2010 survey.
SOME EXPLANATION CONCENING THE MAKE-UP
The Ca. Listening Team comprise 135 leaders.
The Lift team comprises 163 members with some overlap.
LIFT enlistment is received online via a registration page.
At the end of June, LIFT and the Listening Team comprised a total of 288 members.
There are 4 drop-outs as of the 5th of July; however it may be because email addresses change or emails marked spam with one confirmed.
The Listening Team Comprise Several Streams.
OVERSIGHT IS PROVIDED BY a senior regional pastoral team to both LIFT and the LISTENING TEAM.
While the LISTENING TEAM is primarily pastoral, intercessory and ministry based, LIFT on the other hand comprise professional services individual, marketplace businesses, government, financial, media, legal, marketing, communication and individauls that want to serve the Lord.
All are committed to prayer and a kingdom mentality to work together, as to effect transformation in California.
Kingdom simply said, As every part supplies, the increase comes from God.
This is a brief summary and the top ten responses to the survey.
ITEM 1. Building a bridge of Relationship across California, find ways to work together, to build empower and honor all ministries working throughout the state.
The main obstacle is distance and the finances to hold regular gatherings.
The Listening team is presently working on a video conferencing connection between 20 statewide leaders so that we can connect when there is an immediate need.
The benefits include:
a) Little or no finances
b) Video conferencing allow each person to be seen and heard.
c) The entire call can be recorded on to any computer hard-drive
d) All documents pertaining to the call can be easily seen and read.
e) The discussion will focus on building relationships, affirm one-another and when needed work together.
f) Pastor AVALYA will be giving you a call to answer any questions and tentative dates.
ITEM 2 The Redding/Chico gathering. Connecting the Pastoral leadership in Ca.
ITEM 3 The Global Call School of the Prophets. Jan 2010 school merged many prophet streams. From that meeting, forged new relationships within the Listening team. Some of those answering the survey believe that the Senior Prophets should plan this gathering. There are those considered senior prophets giving counsel to the Listening Team.
ITEM 4 A gathering for 3 or 4 days to seek the face of God, Suggested site, Santa Maria, CA. in response to Article by Henry and Grace Falany. Also suggested that the Falany’s lead the gathering..
ITEM 5 Help support and mobilize The Call/Sacramento
OTHER REQUESTED HELPS
ITEM 6 A site any Listening Team member can post alerts and immediate prayer concerns.
ITEM 7 A site to post what the Holy Spirit is saying all through the year
ITEM 8 The Candidate Survey and Political page.
The general consensus is that these pages should continue with a little more explanation as to how the process works and how the candidates answered the questions.
We may post this on the site, but here is a summary.
Some asked how the candidates differed in the 9, 10 and 11 scores.
ISSUE #1 Birthcontrol to minors without parental consent
ISSUE #2 Abortion on demand in cases of rape.
ISSUE #3 Speaking out against homosexuality from the pulpit
Most candidates that had a problem with hate crime issues still supported prop 8
ISSUE #4 Parental rights concerning the content of textbooks.
Topics of Concern
ITEM 9. Continue to pray for Righteous leaders in government.
ITEM 10. LIFT. For those that are part of the LIFT team,
Some of the ways individuals or teams approached LIFT.
a. Gathered some of the candidates to homes and invited neighbors to hear. They prayed for the candidates and prayed for their neighbor’s needs and value concerns. People received Christ… They used a bible study format to discuss the values.
b. Some prayer walked and prayed with neighbors as they shared their value concerns.
c. Some gathered their email friends to their home to pray for the candidates and government and encouraged each other to pray and send out the pages.
d. One group made up door hangers and told people who to vote for.
e. One individual has taken this a higher level and has opened an office to strategically plan how to influence government. GO MY SISTER
f. A group of those that ran in the primary for office on a value platform are now working together with endorsement oriented Christian organizations to strategically plan for the Nov 2nd election. If you are interested in helping please let us know.
g. Others stayed to the LIFT Strategy. Most said the Holy Spirit was very present in their meetings.
Some of the unique ways things have come together within the Lift.
1. MANY UNTAPPED COMMUNITIES HAVE JOINED THE L.I.F.T.. ALL UTILIZING DIFFERENT GIFTS. IT WOULD BE LOGICAL TO SET LIMITS AND CONTROLS, AND RESTRICT THE STREAMS, BUT THE HOLY SPIRIT IS DOING SOMETHING KINGDOM AND IF WE DON’T MESS IT UP, WE MAY FIND HE REALLY IS LEADING US.
PROBLEMS WITH SOME OF THE RESPONSES TO THE SURVEY
A few replies are difficult to understand. Please refrain from using abstract terms when possible.
This is a 1-10 summary based on the largest percentage of answers. We are still waiting on the cartoon upload but will send it separately.
Suggestion as how to corporately spond to the survey is appreciated.
Some additional comments that always appear on the survey but not on the top ten list.
1> A donation site. A donation button appears on the bottom of all the pages. All donations on this site are used to cover email blast and web site costs.
2> A Calendar Page for california events. We have included this link on the LIFT site.
Thanks
